Inventory sync

Inventory sync is the heart of SKUvio. It keeps your stock levels honest across Shopify and every connected Etsy shop, so selling in two places never means overselling.

Two-way and real time

Stock syncs in both directions, in real time:

  • Sell an item on Etsy, and its Shopify stock drops to match.
  • Sell it on Shopify (or anywhere feeding Shopify), and its Etsy quantity drops too.

Because every linked listing draws from the same Shopify stock figure, there’s a single source of truth behind the scenes. A buyer can’t grab the last one on Etsy while another checks out on Shopify — SKUvio keeps the numbers aligned so you’re never oversold.

Only active items are updated

Inventory sync touches active Shopify products and active Etsy listings only. Draft or archived Shopify products are skipped, and inactive or expired Etsy listings are left untouched. This keeps syncing focused on what’s actually for sale and avoids waking up listings you’ve deliberately paused.

Listings are matched by SKU, so a variant only syncs once its SKU is linked to an Etsy listing. If something isn’t updating, check that its SKUs match on both sides.

When an item sells out

When stock reaches zero, SKUvio can automatically deactivate the sold-out Etsy listing so buyers don’t land on an out-of-stock page, and bring it back when you restock. You’ll also get a low-stock email before you run out, giving you time to reorder.

See Sold-out auto-relist for how deactivate-and-relist works and how to control it.
