GDPR & your data

SKUvio is built for EU sellers, and handling data responsibly is part of the job, not an afterthought. Here’s how your information — and your buyers’ — is kept safe, and what you can ask of us.

Encrypted credentials

The tokens that let SKUvio connect to your Etsy shop are encrypted at rest with strong, industry-standard encryption. They’re never shown back to you, never exposed in plain text, and never logged — so your shop connection stays secure right down to the storage layer. If SKUvio needs to refresh a connection, it does so behind the scenes without ever surfacing the underlying credentials.

AI never sees buyer details

SKUvio’s AI features work only on listing content — product titles, descriptions, and tags. Buyer personal information is never sent to the AI. Translating a listing or generating SEO tags involves your product copy and nothing else: never a customer’s name, address, order, or contact details. The line between “listing content the AI may see” and “buyer data it never touches” is drawn deliberately, and buyer data stays firmly on the private side of it.

Data kept only as long as it’s needed

Order data comes with buyer details attached, and SKUvio doesn’t hold onto that indefinitely. Buyer personal information is retained only for as long as there’s a legitimate reason to keep it, then removed — so old orders don’t leave customer details sitting around longer than they should.

Data access and deletion

As the merchant, you can request access to or deletion of your data at any time. SKUvio also honours Shopify’s standard data-request and data-erasure webhooks — the built-in GDPR processes Shopify runs on a customer’s or a store’s behalf — so requests that come through Shopify are handled automatically. Uninstalling SKUvio revokes its access to your store.
